Town funding pays only a portion of the Library’s operating expenses. We depend on support from generous individuals like you to help keep our books, programs, services, and resources FREE for all Newport residents.
Each dollar you give helps the Library serve people of all ages, backgrounds, and beliefs. Monthly donors provide much-needed consistent support to the Library.
The Richards Free Library is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and therefore your donations to the library are tax deductible. You will receive a thank you letter with the needed information.
Honor & Memorial Gifts
Remember or celebrate someone special by making a gift in a loved one’s name. A book plate will be affixed to the item(s) saying something like “Given in Memory of Jane Doe November 2023” or “Given in honor of John Doe on his 5th birthday by Grandma & Grandpa November 2023”

Support the care of our library cats directly. This money is used to cover vet visits, medicine and food.
