Join Ms Mo for a read-aloud on the Newport Common at the weekly farmer’s market whenever the weather allows! Sat @ 10-2 Dungeons and Dragons- Local DM Reggie from the Dragon’s Maze leads a drop-in campaign free for all! 1st Friends of RFL meeting 10amSTEM Exploration: Exploding Popsicle Sticks (Kids and Families) 3:30-5pm Drop in and play! Learn about potential energy with this hands-on activity making popsicle sticks fly everywhere! 2nd Temporary Tattoo Drawing (Kids and Teens) 2:30-5pm. Stop by in youth services to draw your own temporary tattoos with a sticker and skin-safe markers. 3rd Summer Volunteers Meeting and Coloring Party (Kids and Teens) 3:30-4pm. Join our crew of summer youth volunteers as we brainstorm projects for the summer, or just hang out and color! 4th Thursday Night Book Club: Historical Mystery Join us for a cup of tea and a chat about Sharon Kay Penman’s The Queen’s Man. 9th Learn Basic Needle Felting (Kids age 6 and up) Learn how to use needle felting to make your own creation out of wool! 10th Teen Hangout Craft 2:30pm. Hang out in the teen area and craft with your friends– this weeks craft is chenille stem creations. 11th Writer’s Workshop (Adults) 6-8pm. We are meeting in person at the library this month! Join us to discuss writing and stay motivated to put pen to paper (or fingers to keys). 15th Last Week of School Temporary Tattoos (Teens) 2:30-4pm. Time to celebrate, have fun and make your mark with your friends! 18th Summer Reading Kickoff: Birds are Dinosaurs (Kids and Families) 11am. Are raptors related to velociraptors? Kickoff a summer of fun with this animal ambassador program with VINS and find out all about birds and their long-lost relatives! Sign Up for the Summer Reading program for free family fun all summer long.Adult Craft Night: Scrapbooking Summer 6pmSunshine Knitters 6pm An open group for all fiber crafters! Bring your knitting, crocheting, weaving, and what have you! 19th Closed for Juneteenth 22nd Summer Window Painting (Kids and Families) 1 – 4pm. Come help decorate the Picture Book Room window with some summery looking dinosaurs and summer-inspired fun! 23rd Brown Bags and Books Book Club 12pm. This group meets monthly to talk books during the lunch hour! All are welcome! Pick up this month’s book to read at the front desk of the RFL. 24th Air-Dry Clay Dinosaur Eyes craft (Teens) 2-3pm. Make the coolest dinosaur eye decoration with air-dry clay and a bright plastic eye! 25th DIY Fossils (Kids and Families) 1pm. Use clay or salt dough to make your own “fossils” with dinosaur footprints, leaves, or sea shells!Poetry Group 7pm. Circle up with other poets to share poetry aloud, original or otherwise, and enjoy the beauty of language with other poetry lovers. 29th Rock Painting (Kids and Teens) 2pm.
