The library held its annual Volunteer Tea on Thursday, December 10, 2015. Two devoted volunteers were honored: Paula Johnson and Barbara Kvetcovsky. Paula Johnson received the Pamela Gay Award for Volunteerism, given by Trustees since 2000 in recognition of outstanding volunteer service. The range of Paula’s (and her entire family’s) activities stretch from assisting with children’s programs to her current position as Vice President of the Friends of the Richards Free Library. Barbara Kvetcovsky, a past recipient of the Pamela Gay Award, was honored for the many volunteer services she has provided the library for over fifty years, most notably the integral role she plays in the year long preparation for the annual Book Fair. Library staff, trustees, the general public and patrons – young and old – joined in celebrating both of these admirable women.
