Virtual – Holiday Romance Book Recommendations with Booklist Reviewer, John Charles

November 7, 2023

Monday, December 11, 2023

With the holidays right around the corner, take a minute (or an hour) to relax and find some good holiday romance reads! John Charles will give us his “best of” list of 2023 that will have your TBR pile tipping over and your holidays spent cozying up to a good book (bring your own hot toddy!). No need to bring papyrus and quill, we’ll send out a list after the session. We hope you can join us!

After working in public libraries for thirty years, John Charles retired and then immediately went to work for the Poisoned Pen, Scottsdale’s independent bookstore. In addition to reviewing for Booklist and Library Journal, John is the co-author of Romance Today An A to Z Guide to Contemporary American Romance Writers, The Readers’ Advisory Guide to Mystery, and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to the Ultimate Reading List.

Please register for this event, you’ll receive the zoom link in the confirmation and reminder emails.

We are pleased to be partnering with a multitude of MA Libraries for this event.

Number Party this Wed, 10/5 @ Noon!

October 1, 2023

Numbers and Patterns are all around us! Recognizing and using them is one of the most important basic skills that a person can master. The RFL is hosting a number party on Thursday, October 6th at 12-2 to explore and celebrate numbers and patterns.

If you have a homeschooler or a preschooler that is interested in a fun time, you can join us as we push numbers into play dough, make number collages, and look for hidden numbers around the library to trade in for prizes, to name a few examples! ( The number scavenger hunt will begin at 1)

You can count on having a good time!

Upcoming Stress Reduction Class!

December 21, 2022

On January 24th at 1:30, Naomi R. Hall Ed.D. will be presenting a workshop on reducing stress. This is a free, drop-in program, so we hope to see you there!

Step into the New Year with less stress – You just survived all the chaos of the holidays. You’ve put the decorations away and want to put your best foot forward in the New Year. You hustled through the end of the year and prioritized everyone but yourself. What if you took time to Prioritize yourself in the New Year, so you can show up as our best self in your life? Let’s take some time to look at practical steps you can take to reduce stress and manage the stress you can’t control. We will look at techniques you can use in the moment to self-regulate and ideas for reducing overall stress.
