Summer 2023 Community Read: Midwives by Chris Bohjalian

To prepare for Chris Bohjalian’s arrival in Newport in September for the Hale Award, we’re reading his novel Midwives! Stop by the library to check out one of our 25 copies of the book and join us for a book discussion! We have three discussions on the calendar and you’re welcome to pick one or join us for all 3.

July Movie Nights

Join us for an all-ages movie night on Wednesday July 19th to watch Disney’s Coco. Teens ages 11-18 are welcome to join us on Friday July 21st to watch Shrek!

A Special Summer Book Club

Have you heard about Young @ Heart? It’s a special book club that will run May through September for adults who enjoy reading young adult novels. Our first meeting will be Wednesday May 24th at 6pm and we will discuss The Summer of Broken Rules by K.L. Walther. The group will meet on the library’s front porch the 4th Wednesday of each month. We hope you’ll join us!
